This winter recruitment period proves to be a time of feverish rumour and potential major moves. Numerous notable stars are being connected to transfers out of their current teams. We examine some of the major names who might be changing clubs in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Despite the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the AFCON, which has left the player in contention, indications are a major move is imminent. This Bournemouth attacker possesses a contract featuring a sizeable release clause applicable for a short window at the start of the month. Brennan Johnson

This Wales winger has had first-team minutes hard to come by at Tottenham this term. Although being the side's leading goalscorer last season, he has started just a handful of league games. Reports suggest the North London club is willing to consider a transfer for the right price, thought to be in the around forty million pounds. This much-admired Dutch teenage midfielder has earned comparisons to a Belgian superstar for his playing style. Following impressing at the Under-19 European Championship, Smit has become a regular in the AZ Alkmaar first team. The 19-year-old is heavily expected to complete a big-money transfer this month. Newcastle are believed to be frontrunners, but are facing stiff rivalry from Real Madrid for a signing valued at approximately £22 million.
